Nightmare In Badham County

Nightmare In Badham County is a 1976 "Made for TV" Drama directed by John Llewellyn Moxey. The film stars Deborah Raffin (Death Wish 3), Lynne Moody, Chuck Connors (Soylent Green) and Fionnula Flanagan (The Others, Yes Man). Though the American version proves to be quite risque, a more explicit version was released in China. This may be why it actually got good reviews in China.

Two Girls attending UCLA decide to spend the summer driving cross country. For Cathy and Diane all is going well, until they get a flat in the southern town of Badham. At first this seems like your normal southern town, a little bit raciest, but this was probably nothing out of the ordinary for the south in the 70's. The two soon find that this town also cultures a corrupt judicial system ran by a dirty misogynistic cop. After refusing a request to partake in hanky panky with him, the Cop arrests Cathy and Diane. They are soon falsely accused of crimes and shipped off to a Womens Farming Prison. Basically slavery. With no way to contact the outside world, the situation seems hopeless. Will Cathy and Diane make it out of bedham? And will anyone in town stand up to this scumbag cop instead of turning a blind eye? Probably not.
