The Waterboy



Waterboy is a 1998 comedy film staring ex-SNL cast member Adam Sandler. Directed by Frank Coraci (Zookeeper, Click) and scripted by Adam Sandler and his writer, Tim Herlihy. Naturally, this film features an all star cast including, Kathy Bates (Misery, About Schmidt), Henry Winkler (Night Shift), Fairuza Balk (The Craft, American History X), and Peter Dante (Grandmas Boy). This film got Adam Sandler nominated for a Razzie under Worst Actor. The award was taken by Bruce Willis for his performance in Armageddon/The Siege/Mercury Rising.

Bobby Boucher is an H20 loving Mama's Boy living in the Louisiana Bayou. His passion is serving as the waterboy for the local college football team. Sadly, nobody respects his efforts to keep the team properly hydrated and gets kicked off the team. He soon becomes waterboy for another nearby college team, the Mud Dogs. The Mud Dogs had not won a game in years and became the laughing stock of the Louisiana College Football League. Soon, the coach finds that Bobby possesses another talent, besides keeping players hydrated. After thinking of how people laughed at him in the past, Bobby gains the ability to tackle just about anyone in the league. The Mud Dogs rapidly become the top team of the season with the help of Bobby. There is just one thing that holds Bobby back, His Mama. Mama despises Foosball, College, and Women, stating that they are in fact, The Devil. Will Bobby overcome the chains of his Mama and lead the Mud Dogs to the Bourbon Bowl? Watch to find out.
