Sugar and Spice is a 2001 comedy directed by Francine McDougall. This film stars Marla Sokoloff (Dude, Where's My Car?), Marley Shelton (Pleasantville), Melissa George (The Amityville Horror), Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Rachel Blanchard (Road Trip), Alexandra Holden (The Hot Chick), Sara Marsh, and James Marsden (X-Men). The original script for this film was a dark comedy about murdering for money, but it was changed out of fear that the film was too close to another film, Jawbreaker. This film bombed in the box office.

Diane is the popular leader of Lincoln High School's Cheerleading A-Squad. Naturally, she wants to date the star football player Jack Bartlett. The two instantly hit it off and become the talk of the whole school. Everything is going swell, until Diane becomes pregnant. Both Jack and Diane get the boot from their parents houses and are forced to live on their own. They must learn to juggle School, Work, Cleaning and Paying the Bills. This lifestyle is hard and Diane soon has a better idea. The plan is to rob the bank that she works at, with the help of the Cheerleading squad of course. Unbeknownst to Jack, they all begin to hatch an elaborate plan. The only problem is they have never done a heist before. With the help of heist films and tips from prison inmates, the girls learn how to commit a crime. Will the robbery work out in their favor?
